The Evolution Championship Series or EVO returned with its latest edition, EVO 2022, and brought with it new tournaments for the most popular fighting games in the world right now.
Tekken, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Mortal Kombat 11, and Street Fighter V all crowned new champions in the three-day-long event. EVO 2022 also featured a number of exciting announcements that are sure to make gamers excited for the future of fighting games.
Additionally, over 5000 participants from around the world registered for the tournament with over 1000 entries coming in for Tekken alone which certainly goes to show how popular the entire tournament was.
Bae Jae-Min, better known by his stage name Knee bagged the Championship title after a fierce competition with players from around the world.
A Feng Wei main, Knee was able to reach the quarterfinals without a single defeat and fought players like Joey Fury and Pinya along the way.
Knee faced off against Pakistan’s Fate Khan, a Geese Howard Main. Fate was able to win the first of three rounds but Knee came back stronger, winning the final two rounds to lift the trophy.
This was Knee’s sixth consecutive tournament win which firmly heralded him as one of the best, if not the best Tekken player in the world right now.
