October is in full swing and we have several exciting game releases just around the corner, and along with that, we have plenty of reveals and leaks as well. In this week’s GameNama we’ll go over the official reveal of Need for Speed: Unbound, Overwatch 2’s botched launch, leaks surrounding Death Stranding 2 from Hideo Kojima, and much more, including the first details on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. keep reading to find out more!
Need for Speed: Unbound Officially Revealed
A new Need for Speed Project has long been rumored and leaked for a while now and fans have been patiently ever since the Unbound title leaked a couple of weeks ago. Need for Speed Unbound was officially revealed through a live stream on Thursday. Detailing a fresh new take on the franchise combining iconic street style racing with the freshest street art
Additionally, the game will prominently feature rapper A$AP Rocky in his own precision-based driving mode that will feature style. The signature street racing will also see the return of cops and high stakes and high-speed chases in the game. Need for Speed: Unbound hits PS5, Xbox Series X & S, and PC on December 2, 2022.
Overwatch 2 is Officially Out But Many Players Have Been Unable to Log on
The long-awaited Overwatch 2 was finally released this week and things didn’t go as planned as the game faced multiple DDoS attacks on launch day rendering the game unplayable for many eager fans. Overwatch 2 replaces the original completely, in many ways acting, as a glorified content update, featuring rebalanced heroes and mechanics along with the addition of new maps. Horizon Zero Dawn PS5 Remaster and Multiplayer Spin-off are in the works, and Forbidden West DLC Leaked
A leaked Sony document detailed many titles that are currently in the works from PlayStation Studios including a new Horizon multiplayer game, but more peculiarly a Horizon Zero Dawn remaster for the PS5. The nature of this remaster is still up in the air as some outlets claim that it is in fact a full-on remake but given the game’s age this seems highly implausible.
Additionally, Lance Reddick, the actor who plays Sylens in the series posted and then quickly took down a post revealing that he’s working on more content for Horizon Forbidden West. DLC content is definitely something we have been expecting for a while now but it looks like it could be coming fairly soon. If all these rumors are to be believed Guerilla Games is currently working on four games (including Horizon: Call of the Mountain) at this moment.

Nintendo Debuts Super Mario Bros Movie Trailer
The long-awaited and highly controversial Super Mario Bros animated movie from Nintendo and Illumination finally received a trailer. The trailer gave us our first look at Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Namek, and Toad who retain their iconic designs from the video games. The trailer also debuted Chris Pratt’s voice for Mario which has fans divided. The Super Mario Bros. movie will debut on April 7, 2023.
Cyberpunk Sequel Announced
The ill-fated Cyberpunk recently had a resurgence due to its edge runners DLC update and CD Projekt Red is already looking ahead to the future of the series. Project Orion, the codename for Cyberpunk 2 was announced earlier this week. Although CDPR is still working on DLC for the first game early development on the sequel has already started. The Cyberpunk sequel is still a way out however and shouldn’t be expected any time soon as the studio’s current focus is on Cyberpunk 2077 DLC and the next Witcher game.
Death Stranding 2 is in Development and May Be Coming Sooner than Expected
Death Stranding 2 was leaked earlier this year when Norman Reedus, the actor behind Sam Bridges revealed that development for the sequel was underway. Earlier this week prolific leaker DuskGolem posted that Death Stranding 2 is indeed in development exclusively for the PS5 and the project is codenamed “Ocean”. This rumor was further corroborated by Tom Henderson as the codename Ocean was also present in the leaked Sony document. It is unclear how far along Death Stranding 2 is at this point but given the fact that the first game took three and a half years to develop the sequel may just be right around the corner.
