Atomic Heart Finally Has a Release Date

Atomic Heart, the surreal alternate history soviet era FPS from developer Mundfish is officially slated for February 21, 2023, across PlayStation Xbox, and PC. Preorders are now live. First revealed in 2018, Atomic Heart combines elements of horror, role-playing, and survival against an almost fantastical backdrop of an alternate reality soviet era. Players will have to loot and scrounge to survive the harsh world in addition to facing off against hordes of robotic enemies and giant boss battles.

God of War Ragnarök Opens with Rave Reviews

Santa Monica Studios’ latest outing in the long-running God of War series has opened with rave reviews. On Metacritic, God of War Ragnarök opened with a whopping 94/100 across over a hundred reviews. This is the same number, its predecessor currently sits at. With perfect scores across almost every major outlet, Ragnarök is shaping up to be yet another home run from Santa Monica Studios. Simon Cardy from IGN called it a “complete work of art from top to bottom”. God of War Ragnarök arrives November 9 on PS4 and PS5, look out for our complete review dropping later next week!

Final Fantasy 16 is Near Completion

Final Fantasy 16, the PS5 exclusive game slated for next year is still without a release date but producer Hiroshi Takai, in an interview with Famitsu Magazine said that the game is 95% done and no delays are expected. The release date will be announced before the end of this year. The team is currently optimizing the game while also working on bug fixes. Final Fantasy 16 will be a return to a more medieval-style fantasy of previous games while also modernizing its many systems including the combat which will be more akin to Devil May Cry.

PS VR2 Release Date and Pricing Announced

Sony’s next-generation virtual reality headset is right around the corner. The tech giant announced earlier this week that PS VR2 will officially launch on February 22, 2023, with preorders opening later this month. The standard edition bundle which will come with the headset, controllers, and stereo headphones will retail for $549 while the Horizon Call of the Mountain bundle will retail for $599. Embracer Group Shuts Down Square Enix Montreal / Onoma

Nearly six months after Square Enix decided to sell most of its western studios and IPs to European video game conglomerate, Embracer Group. The Swedish holding company has shut down its first studio. Square Enix Montreal, which was recently renamed to Onoma, was shut down after Embracer decided to move away from mobile games and focus on more AAA premier franchises. Square Enix Montreal was responsible for games like Lara Croft Go and Hitman Go.

Sonic Frontiers Has Leaked Extensively Ahead of its Launch

The next game in the decades-long Sonic franchise is set to launch on November 8 but physical copies have already broken the street date and many players have had access to the game for a while. While Sega continues to work to contain these leaks many players still continue to stream the game. Sonic Frontiers combines the classic gameplay of the beloved series but drops sonic in a photorealistic world, unlike anything before. Armed with new abilities and moves Sonic must weave his way through a hostile environment.
