2022 has been a great year for gamers so far. With games like Horizon Forbidden West, Elden Ring, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and Gran Turismo 7 doing well both commercially and critically, there is still much to look forward to in the latter half of the year. There is a huge slate of games coming out over the course of the next 7 months and today we will go over Gameutha.com’s most anticipated games of 2022
God of War: Ragnarök

The much-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s God of War will arrive on PS5 and PS4 in 2022. God of War: Ragnarök will mark the concluding chapter in the Norse saga. The game continues the story of Kratos and Atreus as they prepare for Ragnarök. Thor, Tyr, and Odin are all set to be featured with the remaining realms teased in the previous games to be fully explorable. God of War: Ragnarök is perhaps the most anticipated game for a lot of people and with what we’ve seen so far it is sure to be a hit.

Revealed first as Project Athia back in 2020, Forspoken will finally make its way onto PS5 and PC on October 11, 2022. Forspoken is set to take full advantage of the PS5 hardware including support for ultra-fast load times. The game follows the story of Frey who is mysteriously transported to the cruel land of Athia where she must use her newfound magical abilities to battle monstrous creatures.

The Highly anticipated wizarding world open-world action RPG was first leaked in 2018 with a formal announcement coming in 2020. The game is set to be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2022. Players will be able to explore Hogwarts and its surrounding area while living out their fantasy to be a student at the school of witchcraft and wizardry. Learning potions, attending classes, and mastering spells are what you can expect to do when the game finally releases later this year. Given Harry Potter’s large fan following this game also frequently tops the list for most anticipated games of 2022.

The first game from developer WB Games Montreal since 2013’s Batman: Arkham Origins is set to arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on October 25th, 2022. Gotham Knight lets you play as Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Batgirl as they uncover the court of owls after the death of Batman. The game can be played solo or in two-person co-op mode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II

The highly anticipated sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare reboot is expected to arrive late this year. Little is known about the game at this point. It will see the return of characters like Captain Price, Ghost, Alex, and Farah and is set to feature a new mode called DMZ which is being described as being similar to Escape from Tarkov. The reveal is expected to happen sometime in June.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3

This entry in the series is set to bring back the relatively serious tone of Saints Row 2, something that was lost in later entries. The developers are drawing inspiration from a number of action movies including Hobbs and Shaw, John Wick, and Baby Driver.
