State of Play February 2023 Recap

PlayStation’s State of Play returned with its first 2023 outing earlier today. While it wasn’t the big PlayStation showcase that fans have been waiting for, it did provide a number of updates on existing games along with several new announcements for the entire Sony console lineup; PS4, PS5, and PS VR2. From a deep dive into the long-awaited Rocksteady Suicide Game to the announcement of new titles headed to the already sizeable PS VR2 lineup, we have the complete recap of the event below.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was confirmed to be a live service title that will feature a battle pass and an always-online stipulation. While these decisions will be disappointing to some it was also confirmed on the game’s website’s FAQ that future DLC will be free for all players.

The presentation showed off each hero’s unique traversal abilities along with all the different ways the squad can be customized including being able to wield different long-range and melee weapons and the option to customize your character’s looks as well as equipping different mods to aid you in combat. The developers teased that there will be many references to the Arkham games in Suicide Squad and even some familiar faces. The trailer also gave us our first proper look at the villainous Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman along with several iconic locations around Metropolis.
