Many players have reported that the game is virtually unplayable due to these issues, these issues have been reported across multiple platforms including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Most problems have been reported on the PC platform. From stuttering issues, streaming problems, and shader woes, the game hasn’t had the easiest of launches. Over on the console side, textures routinely suffer from slow streaming and the game as a whole suffers from constant frame rate drops and screen tearing. In a tweet released shortly after the game’s release, the developers insisted that fixes for the title are on the way. Look out for our full review of Jedi: Survivor this week.

Microsoft’s Acquisition of Activision-Blizzard Blocked by the CMA

Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision-Blizzard is one of the biggest purchases in the history of the industry. The acquisition, valued at a staggering $68 billion would make Microsoft the owner of iconic franchises like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft. Despite months of strict scrutiny and Microsoft’s commitment to preserving the openness of said franchises, the UK competition agency, CMA has blocked the deal.

The acquisition was blocked because the CMA deems the deal will significantly hinder competition in the cloud gaming space which in turn will negatively affect gamers in the UK. Following this, Microsoft said that it still remains fully committed to the deal and hopes to sway the CMA in its favor. Activision shares fell by nearly 12% following this news.

Gotham Knights Receives New DLC

Gotham Knights was released last October to generally negative reviews, with technical hiccups being the game’s biggest downfall, after months of patches and fixes, and a multiplayer DLC it seemed like support for the game had ended, but in a cryptic tweet by the developer WB Games Montreal it was revealed that the game will receive at least one more DLC.

This new DLC, titled The Kelvin Incident expands the previous multiplayer DLC, Heroic Assault, by throwing in a new 15-floor gauntlet. This DLC also sees reworked villains, namely Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, and Clayface adding in more variety and challenge for people who want to prove themselves. The Kelvin Incident DLC is available now.

Twisted Metal TV Series Receives its First Trailer

Sony’s recent move into the TV and movie space has proved fruitful thus far. The HBO adaptation of The Last of Us and the big screen debut of Nathan Drake have been critical and commercial hits, not only signaling a new era for video game adaptations but also ramping up Sony’s efforts to continue producing movies and TV shows based on their IPs. A Gran Turismo movie and TV shows for Horizon, God of War, and Twisted Metal are currently in development, the latter recently received its first trailer.

The Twisted Metal TV show’s trailer showed off a new take on the beloved car combat series. The series will employ a more comedic approach, moving away from the game’s serious and darker tones. The trailer gave us our first look at Anthony Mackie’s Character as well as Sweet Tooth. The Twisted Metal TV show is set to debut on July 27, 2023, on Peacock.
