Everything Revealed At The Capcom Showcase

The Capcom showcase returned as part of the Summer Game Fest and brought updates to existing titles as well as some exciting new announcements. The show was small; clocking in at around 30 minutes and mainly focused on Resident Evil titles.

From details on the Resident Evil 4 Remake to new information on Street Fighter 6, we got a pretty good glimpse of Capcoms lineup for the next several months on PS5, Xbox Series X & S, and PC as well as previous generation consoles.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 Arrive On Current Generation Consoles

Although the reveal itself wasn’t really a surprise, we did get some new details on what exactly these new versions will entail.

All three games get a new 120fps mode along with a 60 FPS mode which has Ray Tracing enabled. Additionally, the games see improved loading times and texture details along with better shadow resolution. On PS5 the titles also take advantage of the DualSense’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 are now available on Xbox Series X & S and PS5. Existing owners of the games can upgrade at no extra cost.

Resident Evil 4 Remake – New Details

First revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play event, the Resident Evil 4 remake got a brand-new gameplay trailer along with new details.

It was confirmed that RE4 Remake will have the option to aim while moving (something missing from the original) to help bring it in line with other Resident Evil remakes. Furthermore, the main enemies of the game, the Ganado have been completely redesigned.

The game will have “modern flourishes” and a new darker art style but will retain the heart and soul of the Original. Resident Evil 4 Remake arrives next year on PS5, Xbox Series X & S, and PC.
