Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions Announced

After the recent release of the commercially successful and critically loved Harry Potter RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, a new game based on the popular wizarding world franchise has been announced by WB Games. The new game, titled “Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions”. Quidditch Champions will feature competitive quidditch gameplay that will allow players to compete against each other in the popular and iconic sport that has been a part of the Harry Potter universe since the very beginning.
The game is expected to offer a variety of game modes and customization options, allowing players to choose their teams and customize their players to suit their playing style and will immerse players in this sport like never before. Here’s what we know about the game so far.

Quidditch Champions Will Fully Immerse Players In the Competitive Sport
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is being developed by Unbroken Studios, and according to the game’s FAQ section has been under development for several years. This studio has also been working on the console versions of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, alongside Rocksteady Studios.
The game will be released under the same Port Key Game Label as Hogwarts Legacy. Quidditch Champions engages players in the competitive sport of Quidditch and according to the website, other broomstick adventures as well, so it looks like the game will have plenty of modes to choose from. Quidditch Champions also features a more kid-friendly cartoon art style, signaling an all-inclusive game that will likely take inspiration from games like Fortnite.

Quidditch Champions Will Remain True to the Wizarding World
The game will require an always-online connection and is solely multiplayer-focused. You will, however, be able to play the game solo or with friends. Additionally, you can pick and customize your own Quidditch champion, adding even more depth and personality to the package.
On the game’s websites FAQ, it was also noted that this game will stay true to J.K. Rowling’s original vision, which is a strong indicator that despite the controversy surrounding her, the game and all other titles developed under the Port Key Games banner will remain true and authentic to the wizarding world.
Currently, the game has no release date, but registrations for a limited playtest are now open. These playtest will last from April 21-22 and will be available on all major platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. Registrations, do not guarantee entry, however. The only other game solely dedicated to Quidditch came out nearly 20 years ago, Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup, for the Game Cube and PS2 in 2003.
Hogwarts Legacy went on to sell over 12 million copies during its first two weeks on sale, becoming WB Games’ biggest release to date. Hogwarts Legacy is set to debut on PS4 and Xbox One on May 5, 2023, with the Nintendo Switch version slated for July 25, 2023.
