The Future of Silent Hill Revealed

The long-awaited return of the Silent Hill series finally happened through a live stream event held by Konami earlier this week. Fans were introduced to not one but three brand new games, a remake, and a new movie all due out in the next couple of years. The highlight of the show was the announcement of a from-the-ground-up remake of the fan-favorite Silent Hill 2 coming exclusively to PS5 and PC next year.

The Silent Hill 2 remake will be built in Unreal Engine 5, with the original creative team heavily involved. The next mainline entry Silent Hill f was also announced and is going to be set in 1960s Japan, departing from the series’ signature small-town America set up. The other two games include Silent Hill Townfall from Annapurna Interactive and a real-time Silent Hill experience titled Ascension. For our full coverage of the Silent Hill event, click here.

Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition Details Revealed

The Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil Village were in the spotlight during Capcom’s latest presentation for the series on Thursday. We were given additional details on both of these games. Resident Evil 4 received an extended gameplay demo showing how the remake modernizes the classic with improved graphics, combat, and gameplay. The remake will also remove most quick-time events from the game and for the first time ever will introduce crafting and parrying.

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition received one final overview ahead of its launch on October 28. The Gold Edition will include Shadows of Rose, a new playable story DLC, an update for the Mercenaries game with additional quests, and new playable characters like Lady Dimitrescu. Furthermore, this edition of the game will also come bundled with a third-person mode, allowing the players to experience the story through a classic Resident Evil camera setup.

God of War Ragnarök Hands-on Impressions

GameNama god of war

The highly anticipated Sequel to 2018’s God of War, God of War: Ragnarök from Santa Monica Studio had its review copies sent recently, and some outlets were given hands-on with the final title in the Norse mythology earlier this week. Initial reactions have been overwhelmingly positive with the early fight between Kratos and Thor being a standout. The graphical fidelity and combat were also praised.

The developers also highlighted how this game was constructed primarily as a PS4 title with everything on PS5 just being additive in nature including the increased graphical fidelity and frame rate. The studio also added that the PS5 version of the game will ship with a 120FPS mode (similar to Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection) and VRR.
