Gamescom Opening Night Highlights

Gamescom returned with its annual show on Wednesday, promising four days of exciting reveals and updates. From a new PS5 controller to trailers for Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy and a long-anticipated update for Dead Island 2, there was something for everyone.

Dualsense Edge Announced

The DualSense Edge is a brand-new pro controller made for the PS5 and PC by Sony. This is the Japanese tech conglomerate’s first foray into the pro controller market, rivaling the likes of Scuff and Xbox Elite controllers.

The DualSense Edge features customizable controls, allowing the user to remap or deactivate certain buttons. Triggers can be customized to reduce/increase travel distance and dead zone for more precise control. Players will also be able to store multiple profiles and change them on the fly.

Additionally, stick caps are interchangeable allowing players to choose from three styles (low dome, high dome, and standard) while stick modules are easily replaceable giving the controller a much longer life span.

The new controller will feature fully customizable back buttons (which are also replaceable) and will come packaged with a high-quality braided USB type C cable.

Hogwarts Legacy: Sebastian Sallow’s Dark Legacy

Much to the dismay of eager fans, Hogwarts Legacy was delayed into early 2023 last week but fans were given a brand-new trailer during Gamescom that explores the implications of the dark arts and siding with Slytherin.

Whether players would be able to take on the dark arts has been a question that has lingered ever since the game was announced and the newest trailer answered this burning question
