Starfield Gameplay and Details Revealed

During June’s Xbox + Bethesda showcase for Xbox and PC, gamers were finally given their first glimpse of Bethesda softworks’ newest IP. Starfield incorporates Bethesda’s signature RPG storytelling and stellar open world and characters to deliver a space exploration game many have been waiting for.
Initially set to release in November later this year, the game was pushed forward several months to allow for better polishing to ensure a stable product on launch. Starfield is the culmination of Bethesda’s pioneering work in the RPG genre over several years and looks to be their strongest game yet.

Combat
Much like Fallout (a very popular franchise from Bethesda), Starfield will feature guns as the primary tools of combat. Enemies feature power levels, giving the player an indication of how tough they will be to take down.
Players will be able to make use of a number of different types of guns including rifles, pistols, shotguns, and snipers. Each weapon has been carefully designed to fit in with the space theme of the game.
The animation work seems to be vastly improved with each animation showing incredible fluidity and believability while also grounding the game.
The game will feature a number of enemy types including gruesome monsters like Sirens, Floaters, and more traditional human enemies.
Be Who You Want, Go Where You Want
Starfield features Bethesda’s most robust and detailed character creator yet. You will be able to customize every facet of your character’s appearance from the body type right down to the walking style.
Players will be able to choose from a number of different backgrounds. Each background will offer unique dialogue choices in addition to three unique skills which will heavily affect how the game plays out.
New skills can be unlocked as you level up. Once unlocked, skills can be mastered by completing a number of challenges.
Like Fallout, the game will feature several factions, each having its own set of interests and goals that the player can lean into.
The game will also allow you to build your own outposts on any planet. Your spaceship is also completely customizable.

Exploration
Starfield will feature procedurally generated planets that players will be able to explore. Much like No Man’s Sky, the planets will be vast and varied. Each planet will contain resources and upgrade materials.
Initially revealed to be only a dozen in number the latest showcase confirmed that explorable planets in Starfield will number in the thousands!
Starfield features incredibly detailed and rich environments, the best we’ve seen from the studio. From jagged rocky vistas to lush forests the sights will be endless. The game will be playable in first and third-person modes like all major Bethesda RPGs.
Starfield launches next year on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
